What’s the first book that you ever read more than once? (I’m assuming there’s at least one.)
What book have you read the most times? And–how many?
I wish I could remember an exact answer to that. I have always been a re-reader, so I don’t know exactly which book was the first I reread. It might have been Heidi by Johanna Spyri, I loved it as a child and reread it several times.
The book I read the most times is without a doubt The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien, although I only wish I knew how many times I read it. I lost track somewhere around the fifth or the sixth time, but I reread two or three more times since then. I am rereading it this year, too, and I think this might be the eight time, counting conservatively.
I usually don't re-read. I feel like there's way too many books I should read first before anything else! But sometimes, I can't help it. I often re-read A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks for some reason, and of course, the HP series - usually the first one to remind me where it all began and the final book.
ReplyDeleteI find that The Hobbit is also a nice book to re-read! I always discover something new from there all the time.
@ Jillian: Oh, yes, I reread The Hobbit several times, too, and The Silmarillion - completely forgotten to mention those, but it would be a long list of my re-reads. I love to return to the books I enjoy.
ReplyDeleteLord of the Rings wonderful book. I have only read it twice but I bet my husband has read it 10 or more times.
ReplyDeleteMy BTT answer.
LOTR is fabulous, completely worthy of being reread :)

Thanks for your visit this morning. I am not a re-reader of books. I have to many on my bookshelves waiting to be read. No time to re-read if I ever want to get my other books read.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by and leaving your link. I want the Bible to be the most important. I learn something new each time I read it through.
ReplyDeleteI love Heidi but was blessed with only boys. I also love The Lord of the Rings series, include the Hobbit which we are currently re-reading. My boys love these also.
I was surprised that my 14 year old read the entire Annie of Green Gables series but Heidi never caught on. Can't win them all. Thanks again.

I haven't read The Lord of the Rings trilogy though I have fond memories of reading The Hobbit in school.
ReplyDeleteHere's my BTT.
WOW I am guessing that you really enjoy that book. I, on the other hand, am not a rereader, I have a bookcase filled with just my tbr books.
ReplyDeleteI usually don't re-read that much.

I re read LOTR series when the movies first came out. Great books. Hmmm.... I may have to pick up the Hobbit again here soon.
ReplyDeleteYes! LOTR is worth rereading. I think I reread the books to check if my brain got all the facts straight with all the complicated connections.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
I never re-read books. Mainly it's because there's just not enough hours in a day.
