Teaser Tuesday (July 19, 2011)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
MY TEASERS:

Northanger Abbey

"But when a young lady is to be a heroine, the perverseness of forty surrounding families cannot prevent her. Something must and will happen to throw a hero in her way."

Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen p. 5

  1. Great teaser! I have never actually read Jane Austen, can you believe it?? Though I did just win a copy of Persuasion, so I'll be starting with that one! Two teasers for me this week, with giveaways :)

  2. @ Jenny Q: What a coincidence! I didn't read Jane Austen either until this year, but I challenged myself to read three of her books. This is the second one and I read Persuasion a few months back (my review).

  4. I've never read Austen, either. I am sadly lacking when it comes to reading classics.

  10. Great teaser. I read this back in college, but don't remember much about it.
