What, if any, kind of music do you listen to when you’re reading? (Given a choice, of course!)
Usually, I don't listen to music while I'm reading. I sometimes have the radio or the TV on, but it doesn't matter, because I don't register it anyway. When I read, the rest of the world just disappears. So, mostly I prefer peace and quiet while reading.
I get so sleepy if there's no noise in the background, LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm really into a book I can block out anything, but when it's a book that is more of an effort I need the quiet.
ReplyDeleteI like to listen to music, but it usually doesn't register with me either. I guess it's just subconsciousness or something of that sort.
ReplyDeleteI used to be able to block out other sounds, but these days I'm finding it harder and harder to do. Lucky, you are.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's good to be able to tune out the background...even when there are tunes.
ReplyDeleteHere's MY THURSDAY MEMES POST
I like peace and quiet while I read.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by today.
I would get distracted, maybe it comes with age.
ReplyDeleteI wish that were the case with me, but if I hear the TV or a song, then it distracts me. Maybe I'm not reading absorbing enough books! :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer silence too.
ReplyDeleteI usually prefer just to read with no music. I don't like complete silence though, but it's easier for me to concentrate on my book without lyrics/songs trying to steal away my attention!
ReplyDeleteHowever, I find that when I read a good love story or something - like the Time Traveler's Wife - I feel like I have to listen to quiet music!! I don't know why.
