Bout-of-Books 10.0 Sign Up & Goals

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 12th and runs through Sunday, May 18th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 10 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

I can’t believe the 10th Bout of Books readathon is almost here! It seems like it was yesterday when I accidentally stumbled upon the first one. And I’ve been participating ever since, though a few times were major reading fails.

Nevertheless, it’s always a fun way to boost your reading, help you meet new bloggers, do fun challenges and all in all have a good time, so join in!

I’m still trying to not over-stress myself since this is supposed to be fun, so my goals are once again minimalistic:

  • read every day (yes, I have no number-of-pages goals)
  • write that one review I keep putting off and any other of the book(s) I finish
  • participate in at least one challenge
  • participate in one twitter chat (hopefully)
  • visit a few blogs each day and comment

Books to read/finish:

  • The Silmarillion by J. R. R. Tolkien (to finish, reread)
  • and then start another one, whichever strikes my fancy

Of course, I might have a bad week (wouldn’t be anything new), and fail miserably, but maybe not.

Are you in? What are your goals?

ETA: I’ll be mainly updating on Twitter (@StrangeNewWords), since that is less time-consuming than writing a blog post. Unless, of course, there is something I absolutely feel like I have to post. ;) And, of course, I will write a wrap-up post at the end.

  1. I love your goals! Mine will be very similar this time around - reading every day will be an accomplishment, for sure.

    1. Thanks, keeping it low-pressure makes me do anything at all.

Don't hesitate to drop me a few strange new words! I'd love to hear what you think!
