Bout of Books 6.0 Goals & Updates

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 7th and runs through Sunday, January 13th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 6.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. -From the Bout of Books 6.0 team

GOALS:

My goals this time are very modest. I've been in a reading rut (well, sort-of, I'm reading tons of fanfiction, but I have to get back to read books, too). I haven't read a book in a month or so, so reading a book this week would be a progress. Not a too thick one, so 50 pages a day or 300 pages total.

As a consequence of the reading slump, my blogging has been all but non-existent lately, so my second goal is to be more social and connect with other bloggers.

I will also try to participate in a challenge or two.

UPDATES:

(The format is adapted from Amanda's.) I’ll also update on Twitter@StrangeNewWords, and you can find me on Goodreads.

    1. It's a very 'literally' book, and really well-written, and I have to stop at every other sentence to take in all the beauty and profoundness. Makes me think it's not the best choice to do a lot of reading, but thanks!

  3. Good luck with your goals Pepca! It sucks being in a reading rut, so I hope this week helps pull you out of it!

    1. It doesn't look good, but there's still half of the week left, so I'll try if the personal stuff doesn't get in the way. Thank you!

  4. Good luck for the rest of the week! I'm reading pretty slowly too, but I figure if I'm enjoying what I DO read and maybe chatting or blogging a bit along the way, then I'm doing just fine... :)
Hope you have a good day 4, WHATEVER you end up doing! x

  5. Ooh, What Alice Knew! It's been in the back of my mind for *ages* as a book I want to get to but I've just never got round to hunting it down!

I'm having a slow reading week too - I love the social side of this read-a-thon so it's nice just to be involved. This year, I'm going for a big quality over quantity thing since I have a lot less free time and I need to start using it to read "better" books.

Enjoy the next part of your read-a-thon :)
